No doubt that Claude Newton and Mary Russell are the two I am looking for.

Mrs. Mary Newton's single name was Russell. She was born on April 6--my year and yours are one year off. The mother of Mary matches: Cecilia or Celia Fox, born in Iowa. Mary's father's name was Albert, not Alfred, but this is probably a transcriber's error. Also Albert was born in Ohio, not Indiana; but my Russells were very careless about birth information.
