I am looking for info on my great grandmother's half brother, Quenton "Quint" BOOTHE (possibly also sp BOOTH), b 1838 in Nansemond Co, VA, moved w his widower father William Alexander BOOTHE to Washington Co, TN, and then on his own as an adult to Sabanno in Eastland Co, TX, where he d Jan 6, 1908. His wife was Mary or Polly HOPKINS. His children include Callie, William, John Wilkes, Helen, Sallie, Charles, Elbert, and David.
This family had a ranch (possibly horses?) somewhere in TX, and family legend has it that *the* John Wilkes Booth was a relative who escaped and ultimately made his hideout at the TX ranch. Of course that is most likely untrue, but it is interesting to bump into BOOTHE relatives online who say, "I heard that, too!"
Any BOOTHE relatives working on this line, pls contact me, and I'd be glad to share data.
