Virgil DAY shot for running bootleg whiskey in EASTLAND

My grandmother's brother Virgil Day was killed, back in early 1930's I think it would have been, in Eastland. We have 2 different stories from 2 lines of the family; one that he was shot on the running boards of the car and the other that he was killed on the courthouse steps. In talking with an uncle recently, he thinks he jumped from the car and ran up the courthouse steps where he was killed. The story also goes there was no whiskey found in the car though he and his brother John I think had been involved in this sort of thing. They were sons of John Ceyfus Day and Addie Snodgrass Day and had other siblings Bryon, Ed Tom, Nell, Addie Pearl and my gm Vivian.

I would like to find something on this, newspaper, court papers what ever as I find it of interest. Would someone have access to something like this or advise me how I might go about finding something like this in Eastland? Sure would appreciate it, Sandra
