William (Bill)Taylor married Sarah Elizabeth Reed, from Bandera TX. Bill and Sarah lived near Bandera and had five children. She died in childbirth of the fifth child. Their third child, Ira Francis Taylor was/is my maternal grandfather. After Sarah died, Bill left his kids with their maternal grandparents and wandered around until he died about 1890, from pneumonia, in Sonora TX. My aunt's memoirs tell that Grandad Taylor once visited his dad's grave in Sonora. Bill Taylor and his family appear in the 1880 census, living in Bandera County.
