Thanks to the online censuses and TX records at Family Search, I've been able to add more to the picture. There is so much more available online than there was a few years ago when I first researched. Amazing! After 1874, the younger Garner children were split up among relatives after their father's death. That's why Sarah Margaret and her brother Bethel went to live with their widowed aunt. It's amazing to me that most of the children must have remained close as adults in spite of the childhood separation.
My focus now is to fill in more about those who descended from these lines in the generations that followed. I would like for us all to have a more complete record of the GARNER family, especially of those in north Texas. Also, I am venturing back to George Washington Garners' parents, David and Margaret Garner and filling in more on the siblings of George Washington.
