I need information on both these families. I have much on both these, but need more, especially on Joseph Addison McCormick. Joseph died in Trinity Mills, TX Oct. 31, 1863. He was probably shot for evading the Confederate draft. He had been fleeing the draft since one of the men in his home town, Starrville, TX shot and killed the Methodist preacher who was forcing the local farmers to join the Confederate Army. When this happened, both the man who killed the preacher, and Joseph fled to Arkansas. About 3 months afterwards, Joseph's brother in Arkansas was drafted, but Joseph narrowly escaped and fled to Trinity Mills where he died a few months later. I have been unable to find the circumstances of his death or the location of his grave. He left a widow and several orphan children. I have some information on that family, but so far I have not found that they preserved any record of how he died or where he was buried. The Starrville story is worthy of a movie. W.A.
