Judy, were you ever able to contact Austin regarding the state wide death index? If not, go to main page for TX Forum, where it says Jump to # -- type in 37033 -- that will take you to an offer made by Charles Baker. He will do lookups for the TX state wide dth index 1903-1940. If your Emma is on there, then Austin should have a copy of that death certificate.

Have you looked at the 1910 & 1920 census Denton Co, TX? All the children in the Donoho household are dittoed in as Carters. First are the stepchilden, then there is one I can't read, and you do not list her. Looks like Clo, dau (not stepdaughter), 12, b KY. Is she a Carter child of Emmas, or a Donoho child of Samuel's? Ralph 7, b KY and Bonny L. 4, b TX are also dittoed in as Carter.

Then on the 1920 Samuel is apparently with a second wife Amer R., 46, b AL. Children are Bonnie, dau, 14, b TX; and the next one looks like Johnie R., dau 13, b TX (who is she?); Merlin E., son, 4, b TX apparently child of Amer.

These are not my lines, I just got curious, went looking at some of your message history posts. (^_^)
