Robert J. Hardwick family--1870-1905

Looking for people researching the family of Robert J. Hardwick (probably born 1840s) who was married to Sarah F. "Franky" Brown shortly before 1870.

Sarah F. "Franky" Brown is the daughter of William H. and Martha (Skinner) Brown. She was born 1849 in KY--probably Mercer Co. and came to TX in 1857 with her family and the Skinner family.

She was on the 1850 and 1860 census with the family but was out of the house by 1870--probably married to Robert J. Hardwick shortly before 1870.

In 1874, William H. Brown and wife Martha sold 50 acres of land to Robert J. Hardwick.

In 1905, John Skinner sold land for a cemetery to the Trustees of the Skinner Cemetery Association, one of whom was Robert J. Hardwick.

Sarah was deceased by 1905 when her surviving husband and her children quit-claimed their interest in the Brown land to Martha Brown (widow of William H. Brown). Her children listed in the deed were:

J. N. Hardwick of Archer Co., TX
Eva/Evie Hardwick Johnson (wife of J. A. Johnson) of Denton Co., TX
Annie Hardwick of Denton Co., TX
George Hardwick of Denton Co., TX
Orus Hardwick of Wise Co., TX

Sarah F. "Franky" Brown was the sister of my ancestor, M. Bell Brown McIlvain/McElvane.

Is Sarah buried in the Skinner Cemetery? No marker still exists if she is but it seems plausible. One sister is buried there that we know of for sure. Are William H. Brown and Martha Skinner Brown also buried there--again no markers apparently still exist.

Gail
