Hello,
I am looking for what was known as the Birdwell Tract in the 1840 area in Hopkins County. My 2nd great grandmother was Ritha Birdwell Parkhill Connally. She had several brothers that had come to Texas earlier and settled in that area, and that area was known as the Birdwell Tract. Ritha Birdwell was the daughter of Moses Birdwell. He had died in Hopkins County also. Ritha Birdwell was first married to James Wm. Parkhill in Alabama and later after James died or disappeared she married George Madison Connally in 1836 in Blount County, Alabama. Ritha had three children from James: Martha Jane Parkhill, John Harvey Parkhill, and James M. Parkhill (my great grandfather). The Connallys had arrived from Alabama off the Red River, through a creek known as Click Creek.
John Harvey Parkhill married Sara Jane Hannah and later settled in Delta County in Cooper. His descendants still live in Cooper and one in Paris, Texas. If anyone knew these people are the prsent ones I would appreciate it.
