The Rudolf that you mentioned, age 81 in 1920, was Henry's father. Henry died in 1949, NOT before 1912, as you stated. As near as I can figure, Henry & Nevada were divorced sometime between Rudolf's birth (about 1906) and Nevada's marriage to Mr. Beard. Back then being divorced was about as bad as being a murderer & wasnt admitted to very often. Here's some curious things about these folks.

On 1910 census, Van Zandt, TX, Nevada & kids ate there & she is listed as "Widow" but Henry is living with his parents in Dallas & listed as married.

In 1920 Henry living by himself in Dallas, listed as single. Nevada, still listed as N. L. Huber (don't know what happened with Mr. Beard) is up in Wichita Co. TX, with Ernest, Rudolf, Kenneth (listed as HUBER) and a 6 year old, can't read first name, last name JONES, a granddaughter (daughter of Minnie Huber, I think).

In 1930, Nevada, still listed as N. L. Huber, a widow, is living with her brother, J. S. McMillan in Wise Co. TX. & Henry is still in Dallas.

Based on the way she was listed on all census records that I've found, I believe her name was Nevada Laura, rather than Laura Nevada. These folks have been real difficult to track - I wish I could get over to Texas to do some on-site research. I'm sure there is a record of Henry & Nevada's divorce at the courthouse in Canton.
