Karen,

Palace Hill was apparently located somewhere near today's Hampton Road and Ledbetter. Old maps I've seen don't specifically identify Palace Hill; however, here is some more info that might be of use to you:
------------------------------
1860 Census, Precinct 2 - Palace Hill

http://www.dallasgenealogy.org/census/1860precinct2.htm

-------------------------------
And, from Jim Wheat's site, Postmasters & Post Offices of Dallas Co. 1846-1930:

PALACE HILL (Dallas)
Cameron, David R., 29 Apr 1854
McBrayer, Alfred M., 22 May 1856
Ledbetter, Thos. L., 20 Nov 1857
Ledbetter, A., 12 Sep 1859
Ledbetter, Thos., 14 Dec 1859
Discontinued 12 Mar 1860
(Re-established) Preston, Wm. G., 10 Sep 1860 [resigned]
Thornberry, John M., 31 Jan 1862 (CSA)
Discontinued 5 Nov 1866
-----------------------------------

Fred
