Elam Station, Elam Rd., Elam cemetery

Jesse Elam and 2 sons Wm. and Isaac came with the Peters Colony about 1845. Jesse and wife Rosa and Isaac and wife Margaret Lanham Elam are buried in Elam Cemetery. It is located in the pie shaped piece of land bordered by Jim Miller Rd. Lake June Rd and the railroad track. All stones have been lost. Does anyone know how to go about preserving this cemetery? I have made 2 trips to Austin to the preservation comittee but they finally told me in so many words "Do it yourself". Has anyone ever done this or know the procedure? I think this land is private land at this time. Thanks Helen
