The Dallas Public Library has a microfilm copy of the Dallas County Marriage Index that covers the period from August 1846 to October 1963. This is the same index the Dallas County Clerk's office uses to locate copies of marriage license's in their files. Information found on the index is as follows:
Year = 4 digit Year of Marriage
Type = Marr Rec
Date = mm/dd/yy
B = M
Yr = 2 digit Year
Vol = Volume Number where license is recorded
Page = Page Number in Volume wher license is recorded
Husband's Name or Wife's Maiden Name = Bride or Groom's Name; Last First Middle sorted by Last First Middle
Husband's Name or Wife's Maiden Name = Bride or Groom's Last Name, First Name, Middle Name

Hope this helps, Tommy
