Rudolf HUBER, Oak Cliff, 1905 to 1936
Posted by: Ernie Hurst Date: March 11, 2001 at 05:29:17
  of 1986

Am looking for any information on my great grandparents, Rudolf & Barbara Emilie (Furrer) HUBER that arrived in the USA on 11 AUG 1873, on the ship “Denmark” from Le Havre & London. The couple hailed from “Fehraltorf, Zurich, Switzerland”, and had five children traveling with them. They lived a while in Baltimore MD, Indianapolis IN and ended up in TX in 1876. I know they lived in Falls County and Denton County TX and spent their later years with my grandparents in Oak Cliff, Dallas, Texas.

Their children were:
Susannah (Susie) HUBER – b: 1863 in Switzerland, m: PAULING, RHEINSCHILD, WEISHAAR (either or all three) and living in Los Angeles CA in the 1930s.
John HUBER – b: 1865 in Switzerland, m: Bertha KOPENHAGEN? and died in 1932 in Los Angeles CA.
Barbara Huber – b: 1866 in Switzerland, m: Henry BOEDEKER and lived in Dallas TX.
Heinrich (Henry) HUBER – b: 1868 in Switzerland and lived (I think) in Van Zandt County TX.
Christian (Chris) HUBER – b: 1872 in Switzerland, m: Sallie Bird SNEAD and died in 1947 in Dallas TX.
Rudolf HUBER – born & died in 1876, probably in Texas.
Rosa HUBER – b: 1879 in Falls County TX, m: Ernest L. HURST and died in 1971 in Dallas.
Otto HUBER – b: 1883 in Denton County TX, m: Flora HIRLINGER.

From Rudolf’s handwritten documents, I know that his father was Hans Jakob HUBER and that he had siblings named Ana Barbara, Konrad, Susanah, Gotfried, Anna & Elisabetha.

Although I have more on some descendants (which may or may not be totally correct), that is all I have been able to verify on his siblings or ancestors. I would love to hear from any other descendants – should number in the hundreds by now – or from anyone that can add any information on this family history.
