1901 undertakers-how do I locate records
Posted by: Gayla Date: November 28, 2000 at 14:18:44

I am trying to figure out how to locate the undertaking records of the three following companies:

James E. Dunn & Co. located on Main (1901)
George W. Loudermilk located on Elm (1901)
Ed. C. Smith & Bro located on Main (1901)

According to Morrison's Dallas Directory, these were the only undertakers in Dallas in 1901. My ggreat grandfather (E. Lafayette Pickard) died in 1901 at the age of 24. My great ggreat aunt thinks he was buried in the old Dallas Cemetery which is now believed to be under the freeway. Are their any burial records for the cemetery?
