My gg grandfather, Jean Marie Emile Ducourt died April 13, 1886 in Dallas, Texas. In fact he committed suicide and there is an article about it in the Dallas paper dated April 14, 1886. I'm hoping there was an obituary printed maybe the same day or perhaps the next day in the paper. If anyone has access to Dallas Newspapers from 1886, would you please, please look it up for me. I would love to know what cemetery he is buried in. He immigrated to this country from France started a mattress company in Dallas. He & his wife, Mary had 5 children - Joseph Emile, Minnie, Blanche and 2 other sons. Their names might be Alfred and Ben but I'm not sure. I think all but Joseph were born in Dallas. His widow, Mary Ducourt remarried a few years later to one of the men that worked at the mattress company. His name was Pasquale Goggia. They sold the mattress company sometime between 1901 & 1905 and moved to California.
If anyone finds anything on Ducourts in their research, please send it to me! It seems that Emile Ducourt is the only Ducourt that came to this country or at least had his line carried on. Every Ducourt I have found is directly related to my grandmother, Mary Elizabeth (Ducourt) Hicks who is 92 years old.
