Good morning...I am seaching for information
on my maternal great grandparents. One great grandfather was ISSAC JEHU HOUSTON, a
Holiness preacher, married to Willie Belle
Spalding. They lived in the Dallas area and had 7 children: Albert, John William, Lonie L, Myrtle, Maude, Ethel, and J.D. Maude may or may not have been one of the children, if, not, they had 6 children.
The other great grandfather was EARL ROBERTS,
a farmer, who was married to Belle (maiden name unknown). They also lived in the Dallas area, and they had 3 children: Charlie, who owned a gravel pit in the Dallas area and was well-off financially. He was married to Pearl (maiden name unknown) and I believe they had one child, a daughter, Margarite. Hollis Fair, Earl's and Belle's second child, married John William Houston. They lived in the Dallas area, he was a night watchman, dragline operator, and lay preacher, she was a seamstress...they had 5 children: William Fred, Willie Belle, Edgar Earl, Essie Mae, James Donald...Earl's and Belle's last child, Ethel married Melvin Crim. Melvin worked for his brother-in-law, Charlie, at the gravel pit. They had 8 children: Virginia Lee, Marian Dorinda (a twin who died as a young child), Marie Dardanella, Marvin Hugh, Kenneth Louis, Eliwanda, Mariquita (died as a young child), Wharton Shaver. Can anyone help me with background information on any of these folks? I am especially anxious for information on the two sets of great grandparents as I seem to have hit a brick wall with them. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. I will be happy to share any data I have...I can be reached at:
