You didn't say where you lived, but you can write the Department of Vital Statistics in Austin (see http://www.tdh.state.tx.us/bvs/registra/certcop.htm), give them the information, and for 9$ they'll send you a copy of the death certificate, which will list the funeral home. You can also try the Dallas News web site and see if they'll do a search (probably for a fee) of that obituary.
