Will: If you do a search for his wife, Laura D. Cooper, as given in the 1910 census you refer to, then I believe that you will find her enumerated in the 1920 census, Wortham, Freestone County [T625, Roll 1805, pg. 50]and again in the 1930 census of Dawson, Navarro County [T626, Roll 2380, pg. 142]. However, in the latter census, Laura gives her marital status as "widow". Obviously, that's at variance with your info having him alive in the 1950s. Have you tried to obtain his WW I draft registration to see where he was living at that time and if Laura D. is given as next-of-kin? What documentation do you have that he was actually a Texas Ranger? Just curious, Rick
