1920 census for Dallas not clear, need help please

In 1920 census Mr. ? A. Williams head of household age 31 born Al, parents Al with Sallie 30 Al, Moselle 4 10/12 on Duncanville Road . He is a farmer. His first name is given in index as George but not sure how they reached that conclusion. In l930 Sallie is widowed with daughter Moselle,age 15, and Ralph born 1927 . I have Sallie P Williams's death certificate. It does not list her deceased husband not her children but Moselle Dyke was the informant. Her parents were Silas Dennis and Fances "Fannie" Godwin .Dennis. Any suggestions on how to find her husband's first name.will be appreciated.
