I am interested in knowing for whom Crane County was named.
I am a descendant of the Crane family who came from Calvert Co. Maryland to Indiana. Richard Crane, Born 1801 in Calvert Co. came to Indiana about 1823. He had a son, Isaac Ellsberry who left for Texas about 1859. The family lost track of Isaac.
