Double murder case at Evant, early 1880s

I am looking for information about a husband and wife murdered supposedly by their grandchild James Brown Miller at Evant, TX, in about the early 1880s. I think their name was Basham. Miller was just a kid, and nothing was done to him. I am researching Miller, who became the worst badman in the Old West.

Miller claimed to have killed 51 men. He later killed his brother-in-law John Coop near Gatesbille on July 30, 1884, was convicted of murder in the first degree, but got off on appeal because of a technicality.

I have a lot of information about the Coop murder, but very little about the murder of his grandparents. Does anybody have information about this crime and would be willing to share it. Even the date of the murder would be helpful.

Thank you very much.
