Good Morning, Evelyn,
To my knowledge Copperas Cove does not have a newspaper. It has grown considerably in the past few year with Fort Hood being right there. I think you best bet would be to contact the Temple (I think it is called the Daily Telegram) or the paper in Lampasas, Texas which is the next sizable town to the west. I am enclosing, I hope, information on the Temple Library in which it says that they have a file on deaths in the area. Hope this helps. I do plan to go up that way soon and will see what I can locate for you.

The most likely paper to check would be the Temple Daily Telegram.
Fortunately, the Temple Public Library has archives of the obits going
back to the late 1800s from The Temple Daily Telegram AND they have them
indexed. For a minimal charge (I think $1.00 plus postage), they will
look for the obit as long as you have an approximate date. Contact Mike
Kelsey at the Temple Public Library:

This came from the Bell County web site which is the next county to the east.
This may be more than you need or want but maybe you can find your relative through one of these sources.
Floy
