Berry Irvin Bray was born in Henry Co AL in 1828 and lived there until 1845. He married Catherine Carlton of Coffee Co AL in 1854. On March 1, 1854 they settled in Navarro Co TX. Their children were: Eliga 1856 who m Virginia Webb and they had 8 children: Berry, Will, Annie, Andrew, Ella, Gertrude and Lafelt, who never married, and Charlie. Joel Bray b 1858 married and stayed in Navarro Co TX. Margaret Bray b 1860 married George Pipes and they had five children.

Berry Irvin Bray joined the Confederate Army in 1862 and fought at Vicksburg. He never received a pension. He moved to Coryell Co in 1885 and was a Primitive Baptist Minister like my Meals relatives out of TN. He was also a blacksmith, bee keeper and carpenter.

The Carltons came to America from England in 1639. The Brays came from England as well.

John Wesley King was born 22 October 1814 in McNairy Co TN and came to Tx by wagon and settled in Florence, Williamson Co TX. On 22 Dec 1859 he married Mary Ann Williams, formerly of Missouri, at Georgetown TX. They moved to Owl Creek, which was one of the last Indian holdouts in Coryell Co.

John Wesley was a stockman and owned land. John and Mary had nine children: Amanda Love, Bell Prince, Vinnie Adkins, Rhoda Flowers, Arizona Bray, Tillman, Willis and Henry King.

John and Mary Ann King died in 1884 and 1930. Both are buried at Gatesville Cem.

The H. L. King ranch near Pecan Grove is owned by, or was owned by, descendants of John W. and Mary Ann Williams King.

I am not researching this line and have no further data to share. I extracted this data from a Coryell Co book as a random act of kindness on this March 5, 2001 day :-)
