Phyllis, here is what I found in 1910 for the Smith Long family:

1910 US Census, Justice Precinct 1 (Part of) 1-WD Gainesville, Cooke Co. TX, HH 256/276, Page 58a

Smith Long, Head, 53, Marriage 1, Married 32 years, TN TN TN, Wholesale Merchant, Fruit
Sarah E. Long, Wife, 51, Marriage 1, 10 children/8 living, TN TN TN
Charles Long, Son, 28, Single, Wholesale Merchant, Fruit
Lydia Long, Daughter, 18, TX TN TN
Floyd Long, Son, 14, TX TN TN
Walter Long, Son, 13, TX TN TN
Evelyn Long, Daughter, 9, TX TN TN

I did not find Smith, Sarah E. or Charles as head of a household in Cooke Co. in 1920.

I hope this helps.

Ruth Pruett
