I have copies of a claim filed by gx grandmother Henrietta Ward for a horse taken by the Yankee army from her home in Cherokee County, Alabama. It is dated ?, 1875 and states that her youngest son, Thomas Leach Ward, who was born NC, lived in Georgia and Alabama. was at that time in Comanche County, Texas. She collected $150 for the horse that Sherman's army appropriated. I would apprecaite any information or suggestions for research.
