He could have been a son of Martin Peske and Frances BULECHER who were married in Brazoria County, Texas, on 28 August 1844. The Brazoria County 1850 census shows this family as household #77 (apparently in Velasco). A daughter Mary A. (b. @ 1846) and a son John P. (b. @ 1848) are listed with Martin Pesk [sic], a seaman (b. @ 1808 in Prussia), and Francis (b. @ 1826 in Germany). John BULLOCKER, a sailor (b. @ 1830 in Germany) and Robert MERRITT (b. @ 1815 in England) are also in this household. Brazoria Catholic church records mention Martin several times. These records show another child, Harriet born 5 January 1851.
