Donald Pryde b.26 July 1830 Wick, Caithness, Scotland. Second son of Alexander Pryde b.18 May 1800 d.24 April 1881 and Mary (Campbell)Pryde b.14 April 1800 d.18 September 1857.
Donald was recorded as aged 10 years in the 1841 census, Latheron, Caithness. Not recorded on 1851 census.
Death notice in "The Bruce Herald" Tuesday 15 July 1873, Tokomairiro, Otago, New Zealand.
"At Spanish Bar, Colorado Territory, U.S.A., on the 6th April, after a short illness, Donald Pryde, Esq., manager for the United States General Smelting and Mining Company, brother of Mr James Pryde, Saddle Hill. Much and deeply regretted."
James is my g.grandfather who came to New Zealand in 1856 and farmed at Saddle Hill, East Taieri, Otago, New Zealand.
I would be interested in any information regarding Donald.
