I am researching the Stokes name in the following states: Tennessee, Georgia, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Texas, & Kansas. In particular, the following Stokes line: Robert A. Stokes (b.ca 1877, MS; father b.GA; mother b.MS). Robert m. ca. 1901, Hester __?__ (b.ca 1877, MS; father b.TN; mother b.AL). Their children were: Sykes Bradley Stokes (b.ca 1902, OK) Marie Stokes (b.ca 1908, TX) I have found them in the following censuses: 1910--Justice Precinct #4, Clay Co., TX 1920--Pauls Valley Twp., Garvin Co., OK 1930--I have good reason to believe that Robert A. Stokes was in Oklahoma Co., OK in 1930; & Sykes Bradley Stokes, listed as S.B. Stokes was in Cleveland Co., OK in 1930. At this moment, I do NOT have a way of looking up the 1930 census to make sure. Robert may be with or without wife Hester in the 1930 census, because I'm told she remarried (possibly to a Mr. Eaton). Not sure if she remarried as a divorcee or a widow. So, if there was a divorce, Robert may have remarried, also. So, his wife in 1930 Census (if it lists one) may not carry the name of Hester. Any info at all will be greatly appreciated!!!
