My gggrandmother was Melissa Comer Bourland Forsyth, daughter of Charles Bourland. She is listed on the Stephens County TX 1880 census with Charles and Martha and 5 other siblings..Mary Jane, Martha, James, George and Lewis. I am seeking any information about her parents and siblings. The only information I do have is about James Bourland who was a deputy sheriff in Anadarko, OK and killed in 1906. His mother, Martha, was living with him at that time..she is suppose to have been buried next to him. Mary Jane (Molly) married a David Lynn in Brown Co, TX in 1876 and Martha (Mattie) married a CT Mills in same county in 1878.
My grandmother (born 1901), Comer's only child does remember visiting Aunt Molly each summer with her mother...riding the train to Quanah, TX where they were met by Aunt Molly or Cousin Rube (Bourland) for a long buggy ride to the ranch...could have been in Texas or Oklahoma...was close to an Indian Reservation.
