I am searching for a Henry Claude Lewis, living in Cherokee Co. Tx., he went by the name of Claude. He is buried at the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Wells, Texas. He was married to Mattie Fay Collett. There are several Lewis's buried in this cemetery. Next to him is D.D. Lewis 2-18-1845/ 3-21-1924, wife Mary A. Lewis 4-20-1848/ 8-15-1921.
Claude and Mattie had the following children:
Arthur Cornielus 1912-1974
Clyde Alexander
Lenna Mae 1916-1984
Henry Leslie 1919-1983
Hazel Lee 6-30-1922
Jessie Alton 1927-1930
Claude and Mattie lived in Pollok when Henry Leslie was born in 1919. This family lived in Forest Tx. at one time. They also lived in Wells, Tx. I do not know if Claude was still alive when they moved to Wells. Any help would be appreciated.
