Need information on Samuel M. Stafford, b.15 Mar. 1835 d. 30 Nov. 1909 and is buried in Lowe's Chapel in Cherokee Co., TX. His wife, according to cem. was Amanda, b. 3 Jan. 1836 d.11 June 1912. Samuel M. served in the Civil War in 10th Cal., Ector's Brigade, Capt. Robert B. Martin's Co. and there was also a Thomas and a Harvey listed as serving in the same unit. Thomas died in 1899in OK, dk if he was a son, but I am supposing he was. Harvey was a son of Samuel M., he also survived the war and married Nancy Elizabeth Hoover in 1864 in Cherokee Co., TX. They had children: Ella, William, and Harvey. Have much Hoover informaton to share, but need anything on the Stafford line. Thank you. Lee Bartos (Lrootdigger@aol.com)
