Hi All need help updateing this family.
they were in Cherokkee Co., Tx 1860 and later .
thanks for any help.
In Reminiscenses of Old Jacksonville by M.L. Earle, he writes that there was a pistol and shotgun fight between LUTHER GRIMES and his brother JOHN and G.K. GRIMES and his son MONROE. A horse was killed. G.K. suddenly locked up his business and left for good in the summer of 1871.
In the 1870 census of Cherokee GEORGE K. and son MONROE is not listed, son Christopher is not listed either, but he is on the 1880 Cherokee Co., census.
George R? Grimes divorce Mary C. Grimes 12/16/1851. Seems like this was found in Pike or Coffee Co., Al Papers.
