Alvin Johnson (ca. 1818-1881) and Rebecca McFarlin Johnson (1821-1901) had two sons; Steve R. Johnson, born ca. 1844 in Texas and Lemuel "Lum" Johnson, born ca. 1850 in Hempstead County, Arkansas. Alvin and Rebecca married in Bowie County, Texas 1841. Alvin's parents had settled in Hempstead County, Ozan Township, Arkansas therefore,Alvin and Rebecca moved to Ozan Township before coming to Cherokee County, Texas about 1854. Alvin and Rebecca had 6 daughters; Malinda Johnson Gifford (1842-1912); Eliza Johnson Apperson (1847-1887); Emily Zane Johnson Kennedy Payne (1852-1903); Mary America Johnson (1855-1921); Charity Arcena Johnson Grammer (1859-1922)and Alvin Josephine Johnson Conway (1869-1912). Malinda, Eliza, Emily, Mary America and their mother, Rebecca, are all buried in the Shady Grove Cemetery in Cherokee County. Charity and Alvin Josephine are buried in Woodville, Ok. in the Woodville Cemetery. Can anyone help me find Lemuel, Steve and Alvin Johnson. Where are they buried?? I can not find any information on Steve and Lemuel. Alvin Johnson served in the Civil War and we believe Steve may have also served. Hope someone can help.
