A name like that isn't very common, especially in Brownsville... Most people in Brownsville were Hispanic. I could recommend that you order the death certificate from the Cameron County Clerk, it costs $9.00 (which I'm sure the recipient of the bible will gladly reimburse you for), it will have an informant on it, which is usually a child or other relative of the deceased. I have not heard of that name in my research, but will keep my eye out for anything that might help...
