Hello Constance,

Thank you very much for the reply. Santos Gil was the husband of Ise Y. Wootton who was born in Brownsville, Texas on May 15, 1885. This Santos Gil born in Mexico would have been born most likely before 1889 since they had their first child Hortencia in 1905. I guess it would be possible to father a child at age 16 though.

After she divorced Santos she apparently took her maiden name of Wootton back again. She was also married to a man with the last name of Enriquez and they had twin boys who were born in 1920. Their names were Fred Anthony Enriquez and Hiram Raul Enriquez.

The Webb County, Texas Santos Gil you have given me was born in 1889 in Mexico. He may have been the Santos Gil who married Ise Y. Wootton but that would have made him a young teenager when he fathered the first child recorded in the 1910 Brewster County, Texas Census. Does the death record indicate his father's name?

My greatest hope is to find some city directories for Brownsville around 1885 that will name Simon Wootton who was Ise Wootton's father and also name her mother who was Maria Hernandez.

Again, thank you for your reply. If you find anything more on any of these people I would be very grateful.
