July 11, 1968
Mrs. Joe Reed Buried Sunday
Mrs. Joe (Laura) Reed, 86, died at 1:45 a.m. in Callahan County Hospital at Baird, after a lengthy illness.
Funeral service were held at the First Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Sunday, with the Rev. Wayland Dowden, pastor officiating. Burial was in the Clyde Cemetery with Bailey Funeral Home in charge.
Born Oct. 4, 1881 in Prairie Grove, Arkansas, she came to Clyde in 1913. She married Joe A. Reed in 1902 in Arkansas. He died in 1952.
Survivors include a son, Joe K., of Wichita Falls; a daughter, Mrs. E. O. (Marcie) Nevills of Big Lake; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild; a brother, Luther King of Prairie Grove, Ark.
Pallbearers were E. A. Connel, F. A. Bouchette, J. B. Paylor, Harry Steen, Robert Damewood and Clark Tabor.
