There is a 1900 census for all of the U.S. And, a Soundex for 1900, too. Death records began in 1903 in TX. According to The Handy Book for Genealogists, Caldwell Co, TX was formed in 1848, and has land and marriage records beginning then. Have you tried the Caldwell Co, TX GenWeb site? Some GenWeb counties are putting their local cemeteries online. County tax records can be obtained, on microfilm, on interlibrary loan through your local public library from TX. From the formation of the county to about 1940. Hyperlink at the end of this message will take you to the Texas GenWeb site, scroll down to county options. If you haven't visited the TX GenWeb site before, click on the many options offered. You may not need all the info at this time, but will know where to find it when the need arises.
