I am researching Henry or John Christopher Bettis, born in Prussia. It is believed that his father was born in America, but moved to Prussia. Henry/John Christopher Bettis came to Texas around 1850-1860 and settled in Snook, Burleson County, Texas. It is said that he met a widow, Josephine Menke Plemper who was also born in Prussia. They had several children. I have found Josephine's grave in the Bettis/Plemper cemetery in Snook, but have not found a grave for Henry or John Christopher Bettis. Josephine's son James Monroe "Jim" Bettis is barried next to her. James Monroe was my Great Grandfather. My Grandfather was John Christopher Bettis (1890-1966). Can find no information on family prior to Henry/John Christopher. Any information would be appreciated. Also researching Frederick "Fritz" Plemper b.1843 and W.Henry Baker Bettis b.1846, Josehp H. "Joe" Bettis b.1848 d.1900, Bettie Bettis b.1852, John Bettis b.1854 and James Monroe "Jim" Bettis b.1860 d.1910
