Seeking any information on David Calvin Cowan and his brother Gideon Perry Cowan in Burleson County. Both were surveyors there in the mid-1840's, when they moved their families to Texas from Lincoln County, Tennessee. The "Republic of Texas Poll Lists for 1846" (the closest thing to a census at the time) places both David and Gideon in Burleson County.
Any help is enormously appreciated.
