I checked the Texas HANDBOOK on line version and used the key word Wolf's crossing. there is a Wolf's crossing in Burnet County, but there is a WOLF VALLEY, TEXAS in Brown County.

"Wolf Valley is on U.S. Highway 183 twenty-four miles northeast of Brownwood and two miles from the Comanche county line in northeastern Brown County. . . . . . . . . . "
