This might give credence to the story. Dolly and her children are living with her widowed Lucas family member.

The above DC says John was born in Dublin, Ireland, maybe that will help in your search.

On Rootsweb's WorldConnect site -- -- I typed in Lucas, Dolly, b 1852 + or - five years, spouse Williams. Someone is working on this line. They have more on the Lucas line, but one source is given as "1870" census Collin Co, TX, I'm thinking it should be the 1880 census as they name the children shown on that census. I would contact that submitter, find our sources etc.

Happy Hunting (^_^)
