I wouldn't worry too much about the spelling. I, too, have husbands and wifes buried under different spellings. It wasn't that big of a deal back then. As to the divorce, I would run, not walk, to the Brown Co. Dictrict Clerk's office to check it out. I have found divorce records for several of my lines and they can be FULL of info!
