I am a descendant of Nathaniel Reed and his second wife, Nancy White. Your Callie (Caledonia) Reed, who married a Carptenter, is a daughter of my Nathaniel Reed and his 3rd wife, Sylvania (Sylvia) Tolin Whitehurst Reed. They were in Polk County, Arkansas from 1855 to 1865. They went west to Kern County, California. Then they moved to Williams Ranch, in Brown County, TX. Sylvania died in 1879. Nathaniel and his 4th wife, Chris _____, are on the 1880 Brown County, TX Census Vol 4 ED 25, Sheet 4, Line 25, Page 4 Precinct 25, Dwelling 246/Family 246. It has Nathaniel listed as 61, Chris age 40, Arizona 14 (b Ark.), Lucy 13 (b CA), Nannie age 3 (b TX).

Nathaniel's son, Marion B. Reed is listed on the same Census, Dwelling 32/Family 33 with his wife and family.

Caledonia is not listed with them. I think she had already married Mr. Carpenter by then. My grandfather named two of his daughters after them, Arizona and Caledonia.

I don't know what happened to Nathaniel and his wife Chris or daughter Nannie after the 1880 Census. I do have more info on which Carpenter that Caledonia married. I also have a cousin that may have a picture of her. I will see if I can find my notes on that info.
