I checked the published cemetery book for Brazos Co., and there is no listing for Jackson Gregg (I also checked for Gregg Jackson, just in case).
This book includes the marked graves in the old Shiloh Cemetery and the College Station cemetery.
A brief news story in two out of town papers (local papers don't survive for that time period) noted that J.A. Gregg committed suicide at his home about 3 miles south of Bryan and that he sold "patent steam washers", but gave no other details. (El Paso Lone Star, 2 May 1885, p.1, col.3; Galveston Daily News, 16 April 1885, p.1, col.5).
Sorry I cannot be more help.
