The probate case of J. G. Pye, deceased (case #1198), was filed in Brazoria County on 6 August 1890. The probate case of three minors, Ben, Frank, and Mattie (case #1230), was filed on 20 October 1892. The minors' case folders would have information concerning guardianship, inheritance, and so forth. J. G. was born in Georgia about 1828. (He is listed in Matagorda County on the 1860 census as an overseer.) The Brazoria County probate case index lists no Rawls cases. Benjamin, Amos, and Daniel Rawls' surveys are in Matagorda County.

For the subsequent thread, from the original response, you'll have to click on Lucy's, or my, name to see the thread of responses. I pointed out the error to GenForum but nothing was done to remedy the situation. Ron Livingston]
