J.W. (Bill) Clanton owned the drug store at Iredell for more than 50 years, and was well known in the area. His granddaughter, Ann, is retired and lives in the house where she was raised, which is across the street from her grandfather's house.

The Mitchell Cemetery was donated by Charles A. Mitchell in the 1930s to the Mitchell Cemetery Association and has been in use since that time since the Riverside Cemetery is filled.

I understand that the P.D. Clanton family lived just north of Iredell.
