Craig,

This is the William Eugene Spalding (my great-great granduncle) that I am looking for. His Civil War service:
Enlisted June 27, 1861. Private, Co. D, (Polk Co., GA, Cedartown Guards) 21st Georgia Volunteer Infantry, Army of Northern Virginia. He was appointed Hospital Steward of the 1st Regiment, Georgia Volunteer Cavalry and transferred December 22, 1863. Roll for December 31, 1864, last on file, shows him present; no later record.

The name I have for the infant son is Albert Sydney (1869-1872).

If you have any other information, I would appreciate a chance to see it.
