Thank you Steve for your reply & information. Merry Christmas!

I have not seen the 1880 census for Van Buren County, Arkansas, but would love to be able to. Is it avaliable on the web?

The 3 sons of Thomas J Ray that are shown there should be, WILLIAM F, FELIX G., and my Grand-dad, ROBERT S RAY. There is a 4th son, Thomas C. Ray, but with the familys move in 1878/79 from Miss. to Ark. he had remained behind in MS. The 3 daughters that are shown, should be MARGARET L., EMILY J., and JERUSHA L. CANDACE RAY. Nancy Caroline Ray would not have been shown because she had married Samuel D.W. Davis, 17 Feb 1878 there in Van Buren, County.

I have read some of your other posts and I see you are searching a PIERCE line. I have many Pierce's here in the part of Arkansas I live in, including a Pierce Cemetery. I am going to, for you, check the names in this Ark. County and I will try to get you some information on the line of Pierce's here and hope they might connect to your line. Will Email you if OK. My Email is certainly open, if you choose. Thanks again, Jerry
