My Nichols line is the one you are talking about. There was another Nichols line in that area, the same names in each line so it has been quite confusing at times seperating them and getting them to the correct line.
George Washington Nichols b.1795 SC and Mary Ann Walker had 9 children.
Two of their children were:
1. Solomon Grundy Nichols b.1813 TN married Martha Hannah Daniell
2. James Wilson Nichols b.1820 TN married Mary Ann Daniell b.1825 MS. Mary Ann Daniell and Martha Hannah Daniell were sisters, the daughters of Elder George Daniell and Sylvania Pearce.
James Wilson Nichols's second child was Solomon Grundy Nichols b.1846 Guadalupe Co., TX. (named after his uncle)
Solomon Grundy Nichols b.1846 married Samantha Serena Mellinine Harrison ... had James Robert NIchols and Ollie Ann Nichols... and are the ones that I am trying to find information on...
I do know what became of James Robert Nichols. He became a minister and died 1937 Madison Co., TX. But I would like to know who raised the children after the probate records reflect their mother also died.... and what the connection was to Thad E. Cage since he was guardian of the children.
I will contact the Luling Library... I had not thought that they might have the probate records on film, and if so, I might be able to get them on interlibrary loan.
